Timeline & Editing
A frame-accurate multitrack timeline with real pro trim tools
Every edit in ReelM is a command object, not a mutation. That one decision is why undo is exact, why the AI and your keyboard share the same code path, and why fifty agent edits can collapse into a single ⌘Z.

[How it works]
Timeline & Editing in three moves
Lay it down
Drop media onto the main track or stack overlay and audio tracks above it. The magnet keeps the main track gapless while you work.
Trim like an editor
Blade at the playhead, ripple-delete a gap closed, or reach for slip, slide, and roll when the cut is right but the content isn't.
Nudge to the frame
Arrow keys move one frame, Shift moves ten. Snapping locks to clip edges and the playhead — until you toggle it off.
[Under the hood]
Built to be used, not just demoed
The details that separate a party trick from a tool you reach for daily.
Command-based history
Every operation is an undoable command with an explicit inverse. 100 steps deep, and batches collapse a whole sequence into one entry.
Real pro trims
Slip shifts a clip's content without moving it. Slide moves it between neighbours. Roll drags a shared edge and preserves total length.
Magnetic main track
The main track stays gapless by default so a trim never leaves a black frame behind. Toggle the magnet off when you want manual control.
Snap engine
Snap points are collected from every clip edge, the playhead, and the composition bounds — with on-canvas guides while you drag.
Layer order that reads right
Bring to front, forward, backward, to back. Z-order is stored on a wide integer scale so reordering never needs a full re-index.
Relink without rebuilding
Moved or renamed a file? Update the clip's source in place and every trim, keyframe, and effect on it survives.

Ask for it instead of clicking it
ReelMy drives the same command layer your keyboard does — so an agent edit is an ordinary timeline edit you can undo.

Timeline & Editing, answered
No. Clips reference your media by path with in/out points. Trimming, splitting, and effects never rewrite the source file.
There's no fixed cap. One main track anchors the project; you stack as many overlay and audio tracks above it as your edit needs.
It keeps the main track gapless — delete or shorten a clip and everything downstream closes up. Overlay and audio tracks are never magnetised.
